PART II
Rising up against the tide
The others roll and sigh
But what does it mean; to be a part of this fantastic ride?
That continues for how long
Can we choose?
Not much for me to do
Listening to the Chili Peppers to get a clue
Imitating things I’ve heard before
As we fall through the bottom floor
Searching for the uplifting message, that wasn’t written in the original score
How long can the eternal hope last?
While they consume the past
Crush the ideas that were meant to last
Nothing will be left if they get what they want
Stop them quick, don’t want to hear can’t
Am I the man for this mission?
The change is not mine it seems
Have to do what is in my inner calling
Their abundant life is sprawling
Wean them out, dry them out; tell they have nothing left to cry about
Maybe then we can start our rebuilding
Rise up against the tide
Don’t just give a feigning sigh
It’s ours for the taking
But WE have to try
MY BOYS
Separated from my boys for far too long
Their smiling faces and good vibes can still hold strong
Despite the parents’ end is in the song
Little boys grow up to be men,
Who will be challenged when the spirit of contempt arises in them
They love to know they are still loved
Even when the reason for parents’ love is longer solved
Stay together boys through this struggle
This will allow you to unbundle
The fears and the thoughts that could easily take you under
You at least have each other to make it through in great shape
A great fun childhood is something we can make
I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you’re able to tower
Over negativity and stay positive best you can
All part of the master plan
Stay safe, have fun,
Don’t hurt anyone; I’ll see you anytime I can
SALAD
Had salad for Dinner
Now salad for breakfast
Only a buck
Have to make that money last
At least it’s food
To get you through
Until that payday that’s never too soon
Squeak by or not at all
No reason to feel small
Surviving is a living
Not always giving
Salad keeps me feeling
Salad is my meal today
Can’t wait for that next pay day
In my home, I can stay
WORK
Work tomorrow for little pay, scrapping away
While the elites get to go and play
A care free life presented to them
Not for us though, what was our sin again?
Being born isn’t a choice or else I would have joined their feast
Then give away all the excess shit that wasn’t needed or earned
Use it to build hospitals, more efficient travel, and schools where children can learn
Instead, huge resources are gobbled up by the elite group
Using their money to build several massive houses with gold plated roofs
And 90 foot yachts, they have several times bought
After all the resources devoted to this tiny group
Not much else is left, so we fight over it,
Just so we can feed our own troop
Who again pumps their gas, builds their toys, cooks their food, and cleans up their shit?
The reason we need them is missed
They need us, they rely on us, to go to work every day for little pay without delay
Without the workers the system collapses
Without the elites we continue even better than before, without any lapses
OUR TIME
Time is passing by
Things do seem to fly
Struggle to try
Friend already gone
Too young to die
Fortunate to have this life
Wasted words telling a lie
Fighting for what is mine
Don’t let life pass you by
Get up and try
But not everyone will get to fly
All dreams are in the sky
No need to pounce on others to enjoy the ride
Others will be fine
It will soon be our time
Don’t let life pass you by
Get up and try
But not everyone will get to fly
All dreams are in the sky
SURVIVE
Things don’t always work out
This thing has run its course
I’m trying to be an understanding man
Why do we have to bicker whenever together now?
Let’s try and let those past good times last
At least a little I know how
It’s nothing personal, well maybe a little
Being forced to be like everyone else
Well that ain’t for me,
But, you will see
Soon enough, the implications of having forced and unnatural life
Way too tough
Finish the 2nd half stronger than the first
Use what we’ve learned in the past half, put it to good use
We’ll come out of this okay, possibly
We’ll at least live to sing another day
Doing anything I can to survive in this crazy world
Not waiting for the end of times
When love is gone, and the land is forced to burn
We are just now beginning the true test of human existence
Let’s band together, start a new resistance
THE BELL
The child’s dimming delight
Awful sight
Reality sets in
Hoping for the eternal spring
What will it bring?
The bell will ring
Sending you home
Once again
They’ve spoken
No announcement
Or commencement
About what is flowing
The deal is not yet done
Knowing the end
Never again
Listen to the voice instead
THE CROW
The crow led with a thoughtful passion
Consumed with loves past and friendships lasting
Tormenting the bystanders who walked freely on by
Strange visions of hope that tempted the man to fly
Freely moving onward above the trees
Those below ignored the request, catered to the supposed beast
The hard liners get ready to take aim
Nothing it seems is too strange
Asking for assistance the others bound together
They will soon prosper
In the imagined land of the dreams
Where everything IS as it seems
But the crow continues onward avoiding the scene
The challenge will present itself soon enough
For those up to the task
And the confused past
Grab your stuff
The journey begins after lunch
THE PLOT
Forging the diabolical plot to turn the table
Only those keen to his plan should be able
Hello mother, what do you request?
Is this another test?
Forging ahead without worrying of the pest
Impossible dreams are blocking the view
As the tide rises, the recruits won’t be so few
Laughter again from the minority
We have it now; it is our turn for seniority
Confusion sets in with each passing moment
Who will take the reins of the flailing beast?
The beast has become insolvent
There is no apparent
Possible the one we heard before will reappear
Who’s on his side this time, it’s unclear
The rules were made up long after his passing
If you object to this notion, you’re sure to get a lashing
Rejoice! It’s okay; we are the righteous ones this day
The others have made too many mistakes too be included in our play
We are one hundred percent correct, and there is no denying it
Join us now, or be in a hellish fit
But wait, which division is the right choice?
They’re all so different, none have my voice
It doesn’t matter, just do what our book says
Don’t worry about what your mind says
Avoid the thoughts that try to make sense of it all
Embrace our view now or you’ll surely fall
STREET
Slept on the street last night
No need to be too uptight
Although the mood wasn’t exactly bright
The creatures of the city came out at night
Oh boy! What a sight!
It’s time to ask for a lifeline
No more using a friend of friend this time
“No you may not sleep on my floor”
I know I would have been too much of a bore
Relying on her friend though was already feeling like a chore
So, now it’s time to ask the family for money;
Which I don’t think I’ve done too many times before
Need to find the cheapest way to get south
Find the answers; hopefully learn what it is all about
There’s a chance though, that it won’t work out
Evil transgressions in past lives make The Others pout
Rank and mangy and in need of a bath
I don’t want to be consumed by someone else’s path
But the time will soon come I can feel it
To test fate and see if this is legit
Meaning of life and what is life
Will soon be pouring out like a faucet
But with the Grim Reaper always near
The uncertainty is always clear
Celestial waves of doubt and regret that feed off fear
With new skills and incite, we’ll try to veer
Away from shit before it happens
Someday we will make it past the planets
WHAT’S LEFT TO LOSE
The urging is strong
Let it take you
No going wrong
What’s left to lose?
Anything?
Something?
Nothing?
Maybe someone
Wonder takes hold
Keep them out of the fold
Being so bold
What’s left to lose?
Something?
Everything?
Anything?
Could it be someone?
Missing the desire
Room filled with fire
No going back,
Too tired
What’s left to lose?
Anything?
Something?
Nothing!
There is someone
LAST
