The Table
Fading fast into the beckoning night
Calming voices ensure it’s all right
Ambivalence presence that denies patience
Captures the beckoning call,
From the Beast, at his insistence
Fortunes turn for those of kindred spirit
Goals more than just being rich
Willing and able
Ready to sit at the table
Save a spot
Before it gets too hot
Soul bends to what The Others demand
Hard to make them understand
Prosper now while things are on the up swing
Don’t linger too long on the forgotten song
Vision of everything, all that went wrong
Partnering up for this next voyage
Ramblin’ man ambles out of the garage
Soon it will be time to start
Willing and able
Ready to sit at the table
Save a spot
Before it gets too hot
Dreams
Making up the Dreams as I go along in my own head
What world I live in
I don’t care that’s it’s filled with sin
Whatever I am it is what I am
Don’t really care if I repent Uncle Sam
Just want to live and have a good time
The last one should be a good one, before the lyme
The words get dark though I know
It is though my only way to say so
Life is good, right?
Yes, she yelled; be with ME tonight
Restless Beast
The beast became too restless and unleashed the furry
Caged too long, it becomes time to worry
Mixed results from the previous adventures
Dubious actions cause the others to censure
Opportunity small for the beast to strive
Spinning out of control, anything to survive
Order are given, trying to keep hope alive
Gathering up resources before the next great dive
Seaside
Seaside is where I reside
At least for right now
Don’t know how
I ended up here
But, possibly drink a beer
And think ‘bout
Life up to here
Where am I going?
May need some showing
But, I know soon things will be glowing
Mind
Need to exercise the mind more
Old field glories making me sore
Dad telling me, you ain’t gonna make it
This time it won’t put me in a fit
It only makes me pursue this more
Allowing thunder to lead the way
Not allowing the lightening to make its play
It’s beginning now; like it or not
Why not shut up and give it a shot
I’ll pursue mine
You pursue yours
When it’s my mind
Everything is fine
Bar
Sitting at the bar
Wondering how far
This new adventure will last
Is it greed to want to be a star?
A different kind for this so far
The jukebox is empty; put in some bills
Rooms getting still
Spreading good music throughout the northwest
Everyone knows we’re the best
Lyrics still a work in progress
Get better as go along I guess
Eastern
Making my return to Eastern
Glory days I’ve long learned
Forever bound to this place in the Palouse
Although I ain’t ever seen a moose
Good buddies; doing good on their own
At least that’s what Facebook has shown
Incapable of leaving this place behind
But it’s not always on my mind
Meeting the new guys at my house
Makes me proud of what brotherhood is about
Getting good stuff sitting on the bar stool
This adventure won’t lead to me as a fool
Work
Time to get back to work
The job is not done
Morning bears the rising sun
The others may give another look
Have to pay for all the adventure
My pockets aren’t deep for sure
Others have it easy;
World paved for them,
Mine was bumpy with many twists,
Both struggling and feeling breezy
Even as low as I was, others still had it worse
Even my best will never be as good as the rich man’s mythical curse
It’s time for US, not the U.S. to unite together under a common cause
Why are rich white men living 3000 miles away deciding all our laws?
It’s a controlled rage that keeps me on this journey
In the end, we decide who wins the tourney
The absurdity gets me every time
Why we allow such a tiny group to control our every dime
We must keep civil, despite the inclination
To let it get messy and rely on reincarnation
The Rock Creed
I follow the Religion of Rock ‘n Roll
Much better for the soul
Than the others that make me feel old
Feel it in your bones through and through
Anytime is good; even the afternoon
The legend of the cross roads is true
And I’d probably make that deal too
Like Bon said, “Hell ain’t a bad a place to be”
At least I know that’ll I’ll be free
Best
Seem to write best when stoned
But, I want to feel level
Not feeling like I’ve loaned
My life away in a drugged out tone
No need for a shovel at this party
I’m alive and on my own
Clean Plate
What do you mean this plate is clean?
It’s chipped, cracked and obscene
It’s beaten, but solid
Good for many years to come
Just don’t let it fall off the shelf
Connection
Losing the connection
Yet again
Hopeless drift
No more direction
No more rules
I’m feeling what?!
There’s no connection
Dream
If this is a dream
And I am unseen
I’d feel really mean
If I had to flee
If this is a dream
It is my dream
And I’ll play it out
Till I’m in the right scene
Dreamin’
Dreamin’ of good
But been dreamin’ of Hell
Not sure if I’m really well
But, I’m not leaving prematurely
Will enjoy this full, positively
It’ll get weird from time to time
But soon will inspire another rhyme
Everyone Just Abide
Abstract sensibility
Is the dichotomy of me
Future bright with hope
Don’t care to hear nope
Playfully enjoying the bright new spring
Not sure if I can really sing
Feeling good though
Time still somewhat on my side
It is time to grow
Everyone, just
abide
Fame
Will I do okay if I do get fame?
Or will my story be one in the same?
I love fun as much as anyone
My fun isn’t the same as someone
It used to be I need the speed to succeed
It occurs to me now I’m much better without indeed
Good times though, the bits I remember
That crazy party; when was it?
November or mid-December?
Family
All the family worrying about me
Is it really wrong to be what I need to be?
I don’t want to be like everyone else
Negative energy can be kept to yourself
I’m not here to hurt you
It’s your choice to feel blue
Soon, family, everything will be fine
You’ll be able to enjoy when you have the time
This life is short; a single dance
I’m no longer leaving this to chance
I’m gonna have some fun
It will help some one
It is clear to you
What is best for you
It is clear to me
What is best for me
Soon, family, everything will be fine
You’ll be able to enjoy when you have the time
This life is short; a single dance
I’m no longer leaving this to chance
Jerk
I ain’t no Jerk
I know it’s gonna work
And our lives will be better in the end
You made me strong
And I knew all along
That you’d be there for me
I ain’t too blind to see
That you’ll be free
Away from me
And our happiness will always be
JW
Wrote a letter to J. Wenner
Be a Rolling Stone writer
Maybe I’ll just be a high flyer
Not sure on deadlines, down to the wire
Better suited as a solo flyer
Easier for misdirection
During this connection
I don’t mean to use dictation
On this alliteration
But I’m taking this carnation
To the next reincarnation
Maze
Drawing mazes like I used to do
What does it mean?
That’s for you to stew
Creativity flowing out
Still finding, what it’s all about
Maybe I have it, maybe I don’t
I refuse to say I won’t
Try and make it to the top
Not needing to think of the stop
This is a calling
Despite everyone’s balling
The Test
The first test has passed
But, more to come
How long will it last?
The doubts are undone
Just as the spring was new
Nothing to believe for sure
Except I don’t mind feeling blue
I don’t mind felling blue
It’s better than being dead
Up a shit creek with no paddle in your hand
And you don’t know who to call Dad
It’s okay to feel a little sad
Prefer to be glad
Don’t let other bring you down
Even when it’s your own dad
God of rock
The God of Rock spoke to me
She said very clearly
Take the mic fearlessly
The End of Days are coming soon
There is no time to lose
Am I who the Devil would choose?
Don’t worry she said, he’s not aware of the good news
He’s not all bad, she said with a laugh
But he is in need of a bath
During this journey he’ll be your guide
Just don’t let him get too on your
